ActiveCampaign Migration Program Assistant
Reports To: Audience Chair
Overview:
The American Marketing Association, New York Chapter, is embarking on a strategic transition from MailChimp to ActiveCampaign to enhance our marketing automation capabilities and audience engagement strategies. We are seeking a dedicated volunteer to assist the Audience Chair in managing the execution steps of this migration program. This role is crucial for ensuring a smooth transition, maintaining data privacy standards, and optimizing our contact management processes. The volunteer will work closely with AMA New York staff and Blacfox staff, acting as the program owner under the guidance and oversight of the Audience Chair.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in planning and executing the migration of contact databases from MailChimp to ActiveCampaign.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure a seamless transition.
• Monitor and manage data privacy requirements to comply with legal standards.
• Handle database management nuances, including unsubscribes, duplicate contacts, and data integrity.
• Support the parallel run of MailChimp and ActiveCampaign if needed, identifying and addressing potential challenges.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for campaign management in ActiveCampaign.
• Facilitate communication and coordination between all stakeholders involved in the migration process.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience in managing or migrating contact databases; familiarity with MailChimp and ActiveCampaign preferred.
• Understanding of data privacy laws and regulations.
• Basic knowledge of campaign management software and best practices.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot potential issues in database management, such as handling unsubscribes and duplicates.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Problem-solving mindset, with the capacity to think through and prepare for various eventualities in the migration process.
• Commitment to the mission and values of AMA New York and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Commitment:
The volunteer should be prepared to commit a specified number of hours per month (to be determined based on the project phase and requirements) for the duration of the migration program. This role is a volunteer position, and as such, it is unpaid.

Newsletter Lead
Role Overview:
The Newsletter Lead is responsible for managing the creation and distribution of the organization’s membership focused newsletter. This role involves curating content, coordinating with contributors, and ensuring the newsletter aligns with the organization’s goals and engages the target audience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the newsletter content plan and coordinator social media posts
- Coordinate with team members and contributors to gather content.
- Design and format the newsletter using appropriate tools or platforms.
- Review and edit content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Manage the distribution process with Ruth and monitor engagement metrics to evaluate effectiveness.
- Ensure the newsletter reflects the organization’s voice and mission.
Student Outreach Ambassador
Role Overview:
The Outreach and Recruitment Lead is responsible for driving efforts to attract new members and expand the organization’s reach within New York City Universities and Colleges. This role involves developing and executing outreach strategies, building relationships with potential members, and managing recruitment campaigns to grow the organization’s community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Along with Membership Chair, develop and implement strategies to recruit new members and engage potential audiences at New York City Universities and Colleges
- Create and manage outreach campaigns across various platforms and channels.
- Build and maintain relationships with school organizations and other stakeholders.
